5th Anti-Corruption Compliance Asia Pacific Summit 2017

December 6-8, 2017 · Cordis, Hong Kong

Duxes held the 5th Anti-Corruption Compliance Asia Pacific Summit 2017 on December 6-8 in Hong Kong, offering a platform for delegates from corporate compliance departments, law and consulting firms, NGOs, and government authorities, to exchange views on the regional anti-corruption enforcement environment, and optimal compliance practices.

The first day consisted of a morning master class on compliance programs, and an afternoon master class dedicated to crisis management. The morning class covered the legal framework for global anti-corruption compliance, including the United Nations Convention against Corruption, FCPA, and UK Bribery Act, further detailing challenges for multinational companies operating in numerous jurisdictions, and practices for minimizing risk. The afternoon class explored complex issues such as risk evaluation in emerging APAC markets, and appropriate responses to whistleblower allegations, with illustrative case studies and testimony.

The proceeding two days of the summit featured presentations on a diverse range of topics. Officials representing government authorities in the United States, Australia, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Bangladesh as well as the World Bank, detailed each jurisdiction’s efforts to combat corruption, emphasizing the latest legal developments and areas of emphasis. A panel composed of leading voices in the public and private sectors, discussed changes to the anti-corruption enforcement environment in the Asia Pacific region. Additional content addressed the ISO 37001:2016 anti-bribery management system, case studies for risk and crisis management, developing a compliance program, anti-corruption trends in the UK, and identifying third-party risk.

The 5th Anti-Corruption Compliance Asia Pacific Summit 2017 followed on the success of previous events, delivering insightful and comprehensive coverage of major developments in the anti-corruption world. Duxes would like to thank all attendees, speakers, and panelists and sponsors for contributing to an enriching event.
