Off-Highway Vehicle and Diesel Engine Sectors on Display at Shanghai Summit

Heavy Duty Week 2018

December 3-6, 2018 · Renaissance Shanghai Putuo Hotel, China

Duxes hosted Heavy Duty Week 2018 in Shanghai, consisting of the 4th Asia Diesel Engine Summit 2018 on December 3-4, and the 11th China Off-Highway Vehicle Summit 2018 on December 5-6. The summit provided a platform for policymakers, researchers, analysts, and representatives of domestic and international OEMs, to exchange knowledge on market conditions and technological innovation related to diesel engines and off-highway vehicles.

The diesel engine summit detailed the wide-ranging implications of the China IV Emission Standards for research and development, clean diesel, environmental protection, on-road vehicles, and off-road vehicles. Industry leaders delved into significant technological trends for diesel engines, including vibration reduction for construction machinery, hybrid systems, and new strategies for improving fuel efficiency. Further content explored the effects of lubricating oils on engine performance, and regulatory developments in India.

The off-highway vehicle summit opened with presentations analyzing the construction machinery industry, within China and around the world, hydraulic technology, emissions standards, smart lift trucks, and innovation to mining technology. The final day highlighted new models for intelligent manufacturing, the off-highway vehicle aftermarket, growth points in the service and component aftermarket, before concluding with a pair of panel discussions on complying with the Stage IV Emission Standards, and prospects for hybrid-electric powertrain in off-highway vehicles.

Heavy Duty Week fulfilled Duxes’ mission to educate the auto industry on the latest developments taking place in markets across Asia, and featured high-level testimony on important developments in China. Attendees representing leading enterprises explored new paradigms for environmental protection, improved performance, and collaboration, at an exciting time in the automotive industry. Furthermore, in light of continual improvements to new energy vehicle technologies, lightweight materials, and intelligent manufacturing, the gathering served a vital role, by educating players in the Chinese market on crucial technological innovation. Special acknowledgement is owed to event endorsers: CIFA and MAI, who were instrumental in making both summits possible.
