6th China International Flavor and Fragrance Summit 2018

Duxes held the 6th China International Flavor and Fragrance Summit 2018 on May 17-18 in Shanghai. The summit gathered policymakers from China and around the world, as well as leading professionals, researchers, and analysts from prominent flavor houses, food, beverage, and cosmetics brands, to discuss the global regulatory environment, innovative ingredients and technologies, market entry, consumer preferences, and other important topics.

The first day delved into the specifics of flavor development and management, with insights into safety control, the “table to shelf” process of how flavors travel between products and across the globe, and a notable presentation from a Coca Cola executive on market trends. Other content addressed future paradigms for flavor innovation, and industry integration, in addition to the burgeoning flavored yogurt market in China, and significant technical advances in aroma analysis.

The final day continued with presentations detailing consumer demand for flavor in the oral care market, market implications for enhancing food flavors, revolutionary digital smell technologies, essential oil extraction, and the regulatory status of food flavorings and additives in China. A panel discussion composed of executives from prominent companies, analyzed ongoing attempts to develop healthy food through flavor innovation.
