Currently the Rental & Used Equipment Manager for Caterpillar China. Clarence Lim has worked with Caterpillar for over 15 years. He also has extensive experience working in market and businesses development roles in the construction vehicle industries in Singapore and Myanmar.

Perhaps unusually for his current role, Clarence has a BA in Chinese Studies from the National University of Singapore and is actively involved in the arts.

The Four Criteria of Diesel Vehicles to be Enforced

The General Office of the State Council has recently declared an action plan named ‘Development Action Plan of Energy Saving and Emission Reduction and Low-Carbon in 2014-2015’ (hereinafter referred to as the plan). In order to reduce emission of motor vehicles, the plan shows that standard diesel fuel for the quarter would be supplied to the entire country before the end of 2014, and the key cities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River delta would be supplied with standard gasoline and diesel by 2015.

3 New Standards Relating to Cranes to be Put in Place Next July

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced 3 new standards relating to cranes at the end of 2013 which are to take effect July 1st, 2014. These included “JB/T4030.1-2013: the test of operation reliability”, “JB/T4030.2-2013: the test of travelling reliability” and “JB/T4030.3-2013: the hydraulic system test”
